Enhancing Writing Ability through Writing Sentences, Paragraphs, and Essays Imsil English Club

Background (1)Writing is the last step of communication So far, our club has developed L, S, R skills. Listening & Speaking functions are simple tools for communication related situations Writing is a skill for developing our students’ thoughts with logic, unity, cohesion and coherence. So, We have the reason and need to study grammatical Points for writing sentences, and We’ve practiced writing paragraphs and essays.

Introduce of detailed Writing Activity 영어로 다음 Topic 으로 문단을 쓰고 요지 (Main Idea) 와 Details 들을 아래에 쓰시오 ◇ Topic: My Roommate 나는 고등학교 1 학년 때 기숙사를 함께 지내는 친구가 하나 있었다. 그는 침대밑에 빨랫감을 던져놓고 수 주 동안이나 내버려두었다. 그 아이는 100 권이 넘는 플레이보이 잡지를 학교에 가지고 오고, 방 도처에 - 침대, 의자, 책상, 서랍, 바닥 - 그 잡지들이 널려 있었다. 또한 그는 평평한 곳에 그의 옷가지들, 빈 음료 깡통, 공책, 찌그러진 피자 상자, 편지, 신문 등을 쌓아두었다. 그 녀석은 별로 자기 생활을 억제하지 않는 좋은 아이였는 데 학기중간에는 학교에서 보이지 않았다. ◇ Main idea: ◇ Supporting details: 1) Giving topics and Korean texts

He brought with him to school his collection of a hundred-plus copies of Playboy magazines, and they were everywhere in the room: on the bed, chairs, his desk, chest of drawers, the floor. He also piled on any horizontal surface his clothes, empty soda cans, notebooks, crumpled pizza boxes, letters, newspapers, and so on. He was a nice enough guy who did not quite have his life under control, and he disappeared from school by mid-semester. ◇ Main idea: My Roommate is messy ◇ Supporting details:

They tell people what to do and how and when to do it, without explaining the reasons for their rules, and they do not welcome feedback or questions. In addition, many bosses are not well-rounded people. Their jobs tend to be their lives, and they expect everybody who works for them to think and act the way they do. These bosses frown upon hearing that a family matter will keep an employee from working late, and they come out of their office looking irritated if there is too much talk or laughter during a coffee break. ◇ Topic: Many bosses ◇ Main idea: Many bosses share two weaknesses. ◇ Supporting details: 1.
