2. 1870-1916 H. H. Munro, adopted the name Saki. Born in Alyab, Burma Mother died at 2, sent to live with relatives in England. When WWI broke out, Munro enlisted at age 43 as a private in the British Army. 1915, he went to France and was killed by a German sniper within a year.
