2  10 layers to the detector

3  2.5 MHz data acquisition rate  Reduced to about 75 Hz through a series of three triggers  Monitored 24 hours a day  Ace responsible for checking Voltman

4  Data acquisition cards operate at specific voltages  When voltage drifts too far, an alarm stops data collection  Voltman provides real-time voltage values to the shift crew  Web-page interface accesses Voltman database to view past values ◦ This is where most of our work took place

6  What is seen by the Ace  Display for each section of detector  Easy to identify location of fault

7  Constantly changing supplies and crates  Lack of information  Data retrieval not accurate  Alarms aren’t preventative

8  Separate crate types  Add links to web page  Do we have them all?  Are we actually monitoring what we need to?

9  Code readability (or serious lack thereof) ◦ Tidy program isn’t so tidy

10  Option allows user to plot a voltage from two power supplies at the same time  Everything APPEARS to work properly… …but we were wrong.  Plots are correct, data tables are not ◦ Duplicate tables

11  Should display all voltages of one crate  Receive “No Valid Data” message for all voltages ◦ Know this isn’t true  Run II upgrade to monitoring not compatible  Still a work in progress

14  Normal Alarm  Severe Alarm – data taking stops  Incorrect tolerance ranges on alert system  Should have some warning so preventative measures can be taken before the point of data loss occurs  Also a work in progress…

15  After most edits, something broke  Majority of time spent trying to debug program  Fix one problem, find two more…  …or find a problem you just can’t fix.
