Introduction On day five we celebrate civil rights activists who helped first to free slaves everywhere, then to make sure that they are granted the same rights as everyone else. Some of these people are Abe Lincoln, Dr. Martin Luther King Junior, and Fredrick Douglas. In the next few slides you will learn about them and how they changed America, if not the world.

Abe Lincoln Abe Lincoln was the main person behind the emancipation proclamation. The emancipation proclamation is the document that freed all slaves in confederate control. He was the one who started the ball rolling to gain equal rights for African Americans. He was a very brave person to do this.

Martin Luther King Junior Martin Luther king junior started the civil rights movement. He also gave the I have a dream speech. The I have a dream speech is a very famous speech that started the civil rights movement. The civil rights movement is about African Americans getting equal rights.

fredrick Douglass Fredrick Douglass was born a slave. He is one of the people who fought for freedom of African American rights. He was a firm believer in equality of all people whether it was a African American man or a Wight women. Fredrick Douglass was one of the men who changed man kind.he was a good man.
