The assignment Your assignment is to choose one of the following musicals to investigate for the purposes of cultural influence, influence of the time period it is set, historical influence/accuracy, context of the period in which it is set vs. when it was produced, or other avenue that would showcase a deeper understanding of the influences that shaped the show. Include a beginning to end summary of the show.

3. To Do: If your choice is in some way, shape, or form available to watch, I would strongly encourage you to do so. (GOOD or BAD) Read the script/libretto Listen to the soundtrack RESEARCH!!!!!!

4. The end product Your research should demonstrate a deeper understanding of the cultural influences that shaped your show choice. You may choose to do: A power point (or similar style) A formal report not to exceed 3000 words Cite all sources

5. The performance You are to choose one song from your show to perform. You are to video your performance. It can be filmed as if it were in the context of the show or displaced from the show and in a completely new context. Explain how the song originally fit in the context of the show and how it furthered the story of the show. You are to stage/design/costume this performance and be able to justify your choices. May be live (with a track or a cappella) or lip sync.
