4. Why I want to Become a Teacher I want to become an elementary teacher because I love little children. I used to play school with my little brother, and when I grew up, I just knew that is what I wanted to do in life. I want to become an elementary teacher because I love little children. 5. Where I completed my Service Learning I completed by service learning project at the Good Samaritan Home in Moscow, Idaho

6. What did I do there? While I was at the Good Samaritan Home I presented some learning projects to the elderly people who lived there. We did a lesson on Native American History and a lesson about the history of Moscow. It took our team some time to plan it, but it really worked out well.

Where I completed my Service Learning I completed by service learning project at the Good Samaritan Home in Moscow, Idaho The head nurse was Jackie and she always made our team feel welcome when we came to the home. She was happy to have us spend some time with the people there. You can tell she liked her job.

8. Some of my Pre-Service Learning Thoughts I really do not know why we have to do this service learning project. I don’t have enough time in the day as it is already. It will be hard for me to take a bus to the Good Sam home, but maybe I can get a ride with one of the other team members I really do not know why we have to do this service learning project. 9. Some of my In-Service Learning Thoughts I guess this project is not so bad after all. The people at the nursing home really look forward to our visits there. What I really feel bad about are the people who have no one to visit them. I think most of the people really want to just talk someone. I can certainly give up a little bit of my time to do that. Some of my Final-Service Learning Thoughts Although this project took some planning time and the ability to work with my peers, I still feel that I have become more of a leader because of this experience. It was my idea to do the Native American unit and to make sun catchers. The older people really liked this and I felt good about doing it. All in all, the service learning project was a good thing. 11. How did this Service Learning Project Connect with my Future as a teacher? In the beginning, I didn’t really see how this project would help me with my teaching goals. However, teaching is really a service profession and I will be giving back to my community when I teach little kids. It is important to find out if I really want to be in a service profession before I go into teaching. Through this project, I found out that this is where I belong.
