Defence Standardization, Codification and Government Quality Assurance Authority Defence Standardization Department NATO SD TRANSLATIONS Basic rules MTIs are NATO SD translators mainly in the materiel standardization area Units + troops of the armed forces, or parts of MoD translators are especially in the operational and the administrative area DSD works with a set of translators with necessary level of language skills DSD manages both possibilities – different business relationship DSD prefers a translator from armed forces, or parts of MoD or MTIs over civilian translator agency 9
