5 4 Servant Leadership What is “servant leadership?” –Servant leadership is both a leadership philosophy and set of leadership practices. Traditional leadership generally involves the accumulation and exercise of power by one at the “top of the pyramid.” By comparison, the servant-leader shares power, puts the needs of others first and helps people develop and perform as highly as possible. Is this a (ethical) requirement for a chapter leader? Why or why not?

10 9 Examples to Keep Ethics in Focus in Your Chapter Messaging Each meeting have a volunteer take one of the 7 elements of the NCMA Code of Ethics and lead a 5 minute discussion of that element and its meaning – personally and chapter Speaker topics: Unique ethical standards required for doing business with the Federal Government vs. private sector The key elements of FAR 52.203-13, Contractor Code of Business Ethics and Compliance -- compliance programs and audit compliance The Defense Industry Initiative on Business Ethics and Conduct (known as DII).
