2 Dealing with Spiritual Frustration discouraged by the difficulties of life? illness, finances, home, work, etc… (2 Cor. 11:22-29) we know the answer study, pray, have faith lay our burdens on Christ (Mt. 11:28-30), but how? back to the basics secure the foundations of our faith simplify our understanding (2 Cor. 11:3)

3 Faults in Our Foundation Problem #1: We expect to see our treasure. EarthHeaven good works promotion recognition results (Mt. 6:19-21)

4 Faults in Our Foundation our treasure is laid up in Heaven we are promised spiritual blessings, not earthly there is no instant gratification, but hope (Rom. 8:23-25) reward for faithfulness, not good works good works God by faith (James 2:20-23) a life of

7 Faults in Our Foundation the fruits of our labor come from God earthly results not guaranteed (2 Cor. 12:7-9)(Rev. 2:8-11) our needs will be met (Mt. 6:31-34)(1 Tim. 6:6-8) regardless, we must remain faithful God does hear us (1 Jn. 5:14-15)(Eph. 3:20-21) what does it mean to “give it over to God”? don’t stop doing good! (Gal. 6:7-9) labor, yet trust God to provide the increase as He wills

9 Faults in Our Foundation we must rely on the strength/wisdom of Christ “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” He will direct our paths (Prov. 3:5-8)(1 Cor. 2:12, 16) approved if we remain diligent (2 Tim. 2:15)(Rom. 12:1-2) what accompanies His strength? our weakness (2 Cor. 12:7-10) contentment (Phil. 4:11-13) help of brethren (Phil. 4:14)(Eph. 6:18-20)

10 Conclusion Proper Expectations Our reward for faithfulness awaits us in Heaven. We labor, but God provides the increase. It is ok to be weak (not spiritually). KNOW the truth BE SURE of your salvation TRUST in the promises of God PRAY without ceasing STUDY and GROW
