3  In May of 2013, Knob Noster RVIII was apprised that we were eligible to write apply for DoDEA military affiliated schools grant.  Curriculum Enhancement Grant in STEM areas  School Community Mental Health Grant  The grant writing team evaluated our needs and determined that a STE+AM grant would allow us to enhance our curriculum and provide an opportunity to upgrade classroom resources.  The addition of the Arts would allow us to enrich the teaching practices that we are already utilizing.

8  Students benefit from a multi-disciplinary hands-on approach to learning.  Students are able to demonstrate their talents when they collaborate on multi-disciplinary lessons.  Students build connections with the community when community involvement is a meaningful integration of community support with the curriculum.  Students explore a wider variety of career options when their lessons broaden their perspectives of the jobs that utilize those skills.  Students develop a greater understanding of the relevance of learning when they can tie it to a career, community need or a person.  Students can invent the jobs of the future by analyzing the community, societal, and environmental issues and wants of tomorrow.

12  3 year grant to provide curriculum resources for the implementation of STE+AM curriculum.  DoDEA Grant for Military Affiliated Schools  Goal is to improve Science and Math Achievement for students

13  Carts of Ipad Mini’s to put in student hands  Teachers provided the tools and resources to work with student in creation and development of art  Teachers may collaborate with Fine Arts Team to include ipads in a multi-disciplinary approach to learning.

14  Project Lead The Way – HS Classroom  Gateway to Learning – MS Classroom  Transforming the Industrial Technology classroom to include engineering as well as design and building components.  Preparing career-ready students  Training and certification for the teacher, classroom sets of high powered computers, printers and materials for use in the classroom.

15  Replacement of key Science equipment at the HS level  KNE Science Lab – stocked and ready for use with students by every teacher in the building  WE Science materials and resources to incorporate Science in the classroom.  MS Science materials and resources determined to be needed by the Science team.

16  Math in Focus ▪ Workbooks for grades K-2 ▪ Manipulatives for hands on learning and conceptual development grades K-8  Big Ideas Algebra I ▪ Teachers Editions, Student Books and Workbooks for students of Algebra I at the MS and HS to continue the hands on conceptual development and understanding. ▪ Scientific Graphing Calculators for HS Math classrooms to put the tools needed into the hands of students.
