2 March 3, 2009Natasa Sladoje, TREND 2009, Kopaonik, March 2-5, 2009 Introduction  EUA established Council for Doctoral Education in January 2008, as its own integral part, to support the development of doctoral studies in Europe.  The Launch Conference of the EUA Council for Doctoral Education took place at the University of Lausanne in Switzerland, June 1-3, 2008.  Almost 300 academic leaders, researchers, policy makers and other stakeholders from 35 countries participated in this event.

3 March 3, 2009Natasa Sladoje, TREND 2009, Kopaonik, March 2-5, 2009 Motivation to participate in this conference...... from a point of view of a DEUKS Project representative:  DEUKS is based on studies and surveys related to doctoral education in Europe, conducted by EUA.  Being halfways with DEUKS implementation, and facing further and more ambitious projects on doctoral education in Serbia, to be on a ”hot spot” and hear about experiences and plans of others felt extremely appropriate.
