10 ICC - EC Meeting - Peace Challenge Prj Evanston, ORC - Oct. 1 & 2, 2015 Project Parameters -The goal is to create an environment for peace by improving mutual understanding between people of two countries. In some instances trilateral activities can make sense for common projects. -The projects will be successful, if the political environment in both countries accepts them. Therefore the type of project will very much depend on the past and present relationships between the two countries. -Under certain circumstances getting together on a common project may already represent a major breakthrough.

11 ICC - EC Meeting - Peace Challenge Prj Evanston, ORC - Oct. 1 & 2, 2015 Selection of best Projects Note that the deadline for submitting your projects has been extended to end of November (see 7.2.) Selection Criteria -Please note that we can use our criteria for evaluating the peace content of all our other projects. To what extent are our projects contributing to peace? -For the contest you will select those projects of your country, which, in their intent, correspond best to many of the criteria.

12 ICC - EC Meeting - Peace Challenge Prj Evanston, ORC - Oct. 1 & 2, 2015 General and Qualitative Criteria -They help to set up the project in a way, of facilitating the getting together of people from 2 countries, to open up and to get to know each other’s culture and attitudes and to understand, appreciate, the differences. -They relate to the organization of the project in a way, that it meets the mind and interest of the participants from both countries, who should both have equal impact on the definition and outcome of it.

13 ICC - EC Meeting - Peace Challenge Prj Evanston, ORC - Oct. 1 & 2, 2015 Numerical Criteria -Numbers help to assess the impact on the people in each country. -If the participants from both countries represent a good mirror image of their society, in age and professional background, mutual understanding can reach an even wider spectrum of people.

14 ICC - EC Meeting - Peace Challenge Prj Evanston, ORC - Oct. 1 & 2, 2015 PR -Depends on the relationship between the countries -In any way the project should be organized in a way, that it would cause no problem, when being published in the media, but rather enhance its impact.

15 ICC - EC Meeting - Peace Challenge Prj Evanston, ORC - Oct. 1 & 2, 2015 TRF Parameters for Eligibility + filing wit TRF -Please make sure to prepare the documentation according to TRF parameters and working with your TRF contact -After the announcement in May you will be able to file your project for approval by TRF. The winner will include of 10.000 USD in his budget plan. All others will, I hope(d), also apply, adjusting their budget and/or ask for additional funding from their districts -In most cases the filing will have be for Rotary year 2016-17 and be signed by Club Presidents and others of 2016-17.
