60 Years later the US was attacked again On September 11, 2001 Al Qaeda attacked New York’s World Trade Center

Nineteen members of Al Qaeda hi jacked four planes Two planes were flown into the World Trade Center. One plane was flown into the Pentagon Fourth plane crashed before it could attack Washington D.C. More than 3,000 people died

American officials had trouble identifying the terrorists The attack led to the worldwide “War on Terrorism” The World Trade Center complex also collapsed President Bush gave a order to go to war against Osama Bin Laden and Al Qaeda The United States sent troops to fight Al Qaeda in Afghanistan
