3 Course Expectations Due to the rigor AP demands from students and because this course could reach college credit, it will be treated like a college level course. Expectations: About 7 hours outside of class of study/week. The highest of work ethics: what you put in is what you get out. Multiple day exams. Projects. Programming/Calculator. To ensure pacing, questions on homework will have videos describing problems or 1 on 1 help. This is a demanding course, so be aware of that. Problems require extensive application to new ideas with material in class. Think outside the box.

4 Typical Day Because of pacing and keeping up with the demands of AP and it being a college level course, most classes are lecture based. Students use a variety of techniques previously learned from Geometry, Algebra II and Pre-Calculus to tackle new content. Your skills must be excellent to ensure pacing. Problems seen in class vary on topic, but include a plethora of different math topics to find the final conclusion. Calculator is stressed.

5 Why Take AP Calculus? Desire for a Challenge in Math. Looks great on college applications. You discover math in application and really why we study things like lines or area. Can find volumes of virtually any object of any shape(Important for Engineers). Demonstrate a higher level thinker. Become part of an elite group that few can be in (North Boone’s finest in Math)!

6 Why Take AP Calculus Cont. Pulled directly from the AP Calculus Website
