Welcome to Ivy Tech Community College! We are the nation’s largest singly accredited statewide community college system, and Indiana’s largest public postsecondary institution. 9 Regions. Over 20 campuses. More than 150 different programs of study. Nearly 200,000 students annually.

Major Initiatives Co-requisite model of instruction Math Pathways Custom Placement/Diagnostic
4
Traditional Remedial Sequence Assessment Placement Enrollment Completion Take single standardized exam. -------------------------- Students take custom diagnostic assessment correlated to ITCC competencies. Cut scores determine placement in 1 or more levels of remedial education. -------------------------- Individualized student report provides mastery level of competencies. Students take 1 or more courses before enrolling in gateway courses. ----------------------- Students enrolled concurrently in linked remedial and gateway course. Success has been defined as completion of remedial course. -------------------- NEW Measure of success is the completion of gateway course.
5
Students in one section of remedial course are concurrently enrolled as a cohort in a linked Gateway course with students who are program ready. Remedial Course Gateway Course Instruction in remedial course supports the gateway course. Students earning a passing grade in gateway course, pass remedial course. One and two instructor model is used. Regional decision.

Math 122 Applied Technical Mathematics Description : This course is designed to help students develop mathematical reasoning and real-world skills. Their program faculty guided course development. This course supports student learning in courses only, technical institutes, technical certificates and associate of applied science programs that lead to employment. There are five modules in this course: Module 1 Mathematics Module 2 Algebra Module 3 Plane and Solid Figure Geometry Module 4 Trigonometry Module 5 Statistics
12
MATH 123 Quantitative Reasoning Introduces students to the mathematics required for informed citizenship, decision making, reasoning from evidence, working with real world data, and effective communication. Students will solve problems using proportional reasoning, percentages, rates of change, linear and exponential models with applications from statistics and finance.
