How shall this question be answered? – Not from feelings or opinions of men - they vary with different individuals – No plainer or surer source than God's word The question is found substantially only four times in the New Testament

FIRST ASK BY RICH MAN "WHAT SHALL I DO THAT I MAY INHERIT ETERNAL LIFE?" Mk 10:17 – Answer - keep the commandments Col 2:14; Mk 10:21 – This answer could not be given today Heb 9:16,17
4
ASK BY JEWS ON PENTECOST "MEN AND BRETHREN WHAT SHALL WE DO?" Acts 2:37 – Peter answered "repent and be baptized" Acts 2:38 – Some argue against "for the remission of sins" Matt 26:28
5
ASKED BY SAUL "LORD WHAT WILT THOU HAVE ME TO DO?" Acts 9:6 – Saul first seen as a persecutor Acts 7:58; 8:1; 26:10,11; Acts 23:1; Acts 26:9 – Jesus appeared to Saul to qualify him for apostleship, not to save him Acts 26:16; 1Cor 15:8; Acts 9:9,11 – Ananias answered: arise and be baptized Acts 22:16

READ THREE DIFFERENT ANSWERS; IS THERE A CONTRADICTION? – Jailer, an unbeliever, told to believe; Word was preached to him to develop faith; he then repented and was baptized – People on Pentecost were believers; told to repent and be baptized for (in order to have) remission of sins, which they did
8
READ THREE DIFFERENT ANSWERS; IS THERE A CONTRADICTION? – Saul, a believing penitent man was told to be baptized and wash away his sins, which he did – Ethiopian asked: What doth hinder me to be baptized Acts 8:36 – answer: if thou believest thou mayest Matt 10:32; Rom 10:17 – He confessed his faith and was baptized
9
Different answers to the same question because they were at different places on the road to salvation Example: Thorn, MS: how far to Florence, AL? 146 miles; At Tupelo MS, how far to Florence? 110 miles; At Corinth, MS how far to Florence, AL?” 59 miles - all correct because of progress along the route

If you are an erring child of God, there is an answer for you Acts 8:13,22 From wherever you find yourself in your quest for salvation there is an answer.
