Interesting Points It was produced in 1911, the 3rd (or "C") vitamin discovered Since it was anti-scurvy or a-scorbutic, it got the name ascorbic acid Vitamin C is required to form and maintain bones, blood vessels, and skin. It also protects against heart disease.
