Fritz Zernike Died March 10,1966, Because he was old. Born 1888

Fritz Zernike was a young man who was born in Amsterdam. When he was growing up, he primarily wanted to inherit things from his father (who was a math teacher). When he was a kid he had made fund of crucibles, pots, and tubes that he had made himself.

During his schooling, he wanted try out a colour photography experience. He’s also had experience fixing and working with old record players and clock work.

In 1905, he entered the University of Amsterdam Study chemistry, physics and mathematics as minor subjects

He received a gold medal of the University of Groningen in 1908 A gold metal similar to the Groningen critical opalescence was awarded,1912

Professor of Astronomy at Groningen University Invited him to be an assistant in 1913 He got his first university teaching post in 1915 1920, he was a full-professor at Groningen

In 1940 he invented an approximation method in the order-disorder problem Manufactured in 1923, the galvanometer was still popular In the 30’s he became interested into optic. 1938-1948 he solved the problem of the influence of lens aberrations pattern at a focus

1930 discovered of the phase-contrast phenomenon 1941, the first phase microscopes were made Awarded the Rumford Medal of the Royal Society University of Amsterdam honored him to doctorate in Medicine

Was married twice Married Dora van Bommel van Vloten She died 1944 1954 he married Mrs. L. Koperberg- Baanders

Retired from Groningen University Moved to Naarden, a little country outside of Amsterdam
