5. WHY Did It Happen? What King George did There was an act called by King George III and it was called the Townshend act. There was a French and Indian War bill so King George III passed a tax law. 7. WHAT Happened? Things that the Colonist did with the tea The Colonist and The Sons of Liberty dumped the tea in the river. The Colonist didn’t want the British to unload the tea in Boston. The taxes and act King George III passed When the British found the tea in the river, so King George III passed the Coercive act. King George III passed a tax on tea and the Colonist were angry.
