The Hobbit, or There and Back Again, is a fantasy novel by J. R. R. Tolkien. It was published on 21 September 1937. The book had a great success.

The author of the book John Ronald Reuel Tolkien(3 January 1892 – 2 September 1973) is an English writer, poet, philologist, and university professor, best known as the author of the classic high fantasy works The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, and The Silmarillion.

Gandalf tricks Bilbo into a dangerous adventure with Thorin and his band of dwarves, to release the Lonely Mountain(the home of dwarves) from the dragon Smaug.

The group travel into the wild, where Gandalf saves the company from trolls and leads them to Rivendell, where Elrond reveals more secrets from the map. Passing over the Misty Mountains, they are caught by goblins and driven deep underground. Bilbo who was lost in the goblin tunnels, Find there a mysterious ring and then its owner Gollum, who wants Bilbo to play in riddles. With the help of the ring, Bilbo escapes and found dwarves. And they went to the Lonely Mountain.

The expedition travels to the Lonely Mountain and find the secret door. Bilbo stealing a great cup and learning about a weakness in Smaug's armour. The enraged dragon sets out to destroy the Lake-town. But one bower Bard kills him. Thorin and dwarves get all treasures. Then the battle of five armies starts. It was a great Battle where dwarves, elves and men defeat goblins. After battle Bilbo went home, to his native hole, in the shire.

The main character of the book is Bilbo. He is a kind hobbit from the shire. Thorin Oakenshield is a leader of dwarves who travels with Bilbo and Gandalf.

Moral of the story Stories never end badly. So… if everything is bad, my friends, don’t worry, it's not the end.
