Challenge Issue Areas From the User POV: –Identifying and finding resources –Accessing (electronically) and physical use of resources From Admin POV; –Staffing and administering the library –Funding the Library

Accessing and Using Resources Now –Distinct and separate user groups and therefore 3 systems (physical and electronic) of access Ideal –Create single sign on for all state university user groups –PBCL Card access to all PBC card holders? Possible Solutions

Locating Resources Now –Must search 3 online catalogs: UA, ASU, NAU Ideal –Create one place to search and locate Could use WorldCat Local? (least expensive?) Possible Solutions

Staffing the Library Now –3 personnel groups: UA, ASU, NAU Ideal –One for PBC Possible Solutions

Funding and sourcing the Library Now –3 funding entities: UA, ASU, NAU Presently only UA is funding the PBC Library; used primarily in person by UA students, less so ASU BMI and nursing students and faculty. –3 library resourcing (aka collections acquisitions and development) groups: UA, ASU, NAU Presently collections are identified and acquired by UA AHSL library faculty; DPC ASU has acquired several core UA COM texts. Ideal –One for PBC Possible Solutions
