BIODIESEL By Diana Maina and Rachel Jimenez :)
2
PROS OF BIODIESEL =) Biofules are valued because they are sources of thermal energy. Sometimes this energy is used to heat a home or buisness, and sometimes it is used as fuel for a heat engine. The world’s poorest countries rely heavily on biofuels (especially wood and dung-cakes) for cooking and heating, while some of the world’s most technically advanced countries are investing billions of dollars in producing sophisticated biofuels such as ethanol.
3
CONS OF BIODIESEL =( Biodiesel is not easy to get/ not widely available The process of making biodiesel is complicated and messy in order to change a engine into a biodiesel-friendly engine, many expensive modifications need to be made in order to make biodiesel you need lots and lots of farmland
4
SOURCE OF BIODIESEL Obtained from organic materials which include, but are not limited to, wood, straw sugarcane residue, animal wasters, landfill gas, biodiesel and ethanol, municipal waste, black liquor, switchgrass, and a variety of synthetic gases derived from plant and animal matter.
5
HOW BIODIESEL WORKS From plants, like sun flower seeds to the factories where it is converted and may be combined with pertodiesel, to gas stations or as heating oil
