FOUNDING FATHERS George Washington was the first president of the united states. Benjamin Franklin was a well know inventor in the colonies. Thomas Jefferson was the writer of the Declaration of Independence John Adams was the secant president

3 REGIONS New England was made up of Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Rhode Island The Middle colonies were made of New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware Southern part were made of Maryland, Virginia, North and South Carolina, Georgia

WHAT MADE THEM UNIQUE New England was famous for seafood, whale oil, and ship building The Middle colonies were famous for grains and oats, logging and paper The Southern Colonies were famous for rice, indigo, tobacco, sugarcanes, cotton

JOBS A blacksmith crafted hardware and tools. A silversmith crafted with silver. A cooper crafted with casks.

TOOLS A hammer was used to drive nails. A augers are used to drill holes. A chisel is used to shape wood.

HOUSES A slave or a poor person would typically have a house of shelter with one room A middle class resident would have a house with 1-2 floors A rich person would have a plantation hous or mansion

SLAVERY Most slaves were captured from Africa and forced to do work in plantations and work for farmers.

THE TOP REGION WITH SLAVERY The south needed slaves the most because they needed to make a living by farming Tabaco.
