The food goes in the mouth; it is chewed into little pieces by the teeth and mixed with saliva. Apple s are popular fruit and they are also healthy they are so delicious and yummy I love eating them. We are going into the swallowing now.
3
TThe food is swallowed. It travels down the food pipe to the stomach. TThe apple goes down our food pipe with water, germs and saliva. TThen we go to the stomach.
4
IIn the stomach the food is mixed with lots of digestive juices. This breaks the food down into tiny little pieces that can be taken into the body. WWhen you have a pain you drink some water and it may get better. YYou are sitting on the chair at lunch time enjoying you lovely sandwich that mum or dad made and it goes into your stomach.
5
The tiny pieces of food pass into the small intestine. Here all the good bits (healthy sugars, nutrients, minerals, some fats etc) are taken into the body. In the last 20 years we have increased sugar. Now off to the large intestine.
6
TThe waste products and water pass into the large intestine, here all the water needed is taken into the body. TThis article is primarily about the human gut, though the information about its processes are directly applicable to most mammals. WWe are going into the waste part now.
7
What bits are left after the large intestine are waste products. This leaves the body when we go to the toilet. The waste that was in our body now leaves our body and goes down the toilet.
