Welcome and Thank You! “ Time Out for Reading” October 2 at 10:45 a.m. “Camp Read S’more (TRW)” October 19-23

Let’s start with the fabulous news! By participating in “Time Out for Reading” sponsored by the Northwest Indiana Literacy Coalition and “Camp Read S’more” you can win your very own gift basket complete with a diffuser (like the one on our counter) along with three essential oils, mental focus, peace and harmony, and peaceful sleep. As if that weren’t enough— you also get everything you would need to make your very own s’mores minus the fire (hence the name, Camp Read S’more). Men, trust me! Your wives or significant others will want this! Have there already been fights and name calling in the copy room over who is going to win? Well, yes.

Let’s end with the less than fabulous news. You’re doing two activities during advisory on October 2! Unfortunately, both activities are “time sensitive”. I’m sorry.

Let’s recap the day of Oct. 2! Read my email and the attached activity! On October 2 at 10:45 a.m. we along with 140,000 others in Northwest Indiana will stop what we are doing and read. If you want to enter the contest you can tweet or email pictures to the library depicting Time Out for Reading. (After October 2, send pictures depicting the various ways you, your friends, or your classes utilize the library.) No limit to entries! If your advisory cannot handle the picture activity, just read! That activity is non-negotiable.

Last bit of info and questions The book the Northwest Indiana Literacy Coalition is promoting is The Supremes at Earl’s All-You-Can-Eat. It takes place in the 1960’s in a fictional Indiana town near Terre Haute. (Preview on Google Books) They have also supplied clown noses and bookmarks. Any questions for me?
