1 PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS OF AVS-M AND ITS APPLICATION IN MOBILE ENVIRONMENT By Vidur Vajani (1000679332) vidur.vajani@mavs.uta.edu Under the guidance of Dr. K R. Rao

2 Introduction AVS stands for the Audio Video coding Standard Workgroup of China, who develops audio/video coding standards as well as system and digital right management standards AVS-M is the AVS video coding standard targeting for mobile multimedia applications AVS M is a Jiben Profile (7 th profile) out of the 10 different profiles of AVS.

3 Objective:  This project will provide an insight into the AVS-M video standard, architecture of AVS-M codec, features it offers and various data formats it supports  A study will be done on the key techniques such as transform and quantization, intra prediction, quarter-pixel interpolation, motion compensation modes, entropy coding and in-loop de-blocking filter.
