Floor Frame Now that you have a foundation, it’s time to build on it. This type of construction is for stem-wall foundations. Slab on grade foundations would only use this floor construction for multiple stories. Every piece of wood has a name and a job.

Parts of a Floor Frame- Pier Block A pier block or footing transfers weight to the ground and carries the load of the floor above. Part of the support system.

Parts of a Floor Frame- Post The post connects to the pier block and holds up the girder above. This is part of the support system of the floor.
