2. Volley The word volley- means to discharge in a line The Volley is used most commonly in volleyball and tennis. There are a number of ways to volley the ball in volleyball.

7. Task Today you will work on the three ways to volley in the game of volleyball. The bump, set, and dig are three ways in which to volley the ball either to a teammate or to your opponents. Get a partner and volley back and forth to one another. Now apply those practice skills in a game.

8. Game Create a volleying game to see how many times you can keep it in the air. Assign and give yourself point values for volleying to your partner. Give yourself extra if you can volley to yourself and then to your partner. Can you volley to yourself? Think upward and forward!

9. Rubric 1- difficulty using 2 of the 3 types of volleys, very little accuracy. 2- can use 2 of the 3 types of volleys with some accuracy 3- can use all three types of volleys with accuracy.
