4 Did you like the presentations topics? What topics would you like to see added or removed from furture SAWS Workshops? Answered: 11 Skipped: 2 Excellent Workshop! Presentations regarding aviation trending, technical advances, and mathematical wx decision tools were most enjoyable. Would like to see more real life examples on how ATC, Pilots (GA & ATP), and WX Team handle difficult wx situations; how responsibility is carried within each profession; and how to improve communication within each group to improve safety and expediency. All of the topics this year were relevant and informative To Add: 1. Role of NextGen technologies in aviation weather safety. 2. Role of FSS as an enroute weather resource. 3. More on basic meterology with emphasis on the formation of fog and mountain waves. I'm an OPS guy. Less air carrier "advertising" thier service; more operational issues. Same with AOPA; their case studies pretty much useless. Skew-Ts great presentation, but not much practical use. (My opinion-Terry Lankford.) I loved the topics, but would love to see some more depth and presentations from the GA community on what they expect/how they interpret our forecasts. I would really love to have a roundtable discussions with aviation and meteorology community. Very good aviation and weather related topics. Very much enjoyed the Synoptic Climatology Program. All was very informational and helpful. The Weather Related General Aviation Accidents presentation was very interesting. Over-all great Webinar How about giving PIREPS and how they are processed? Also, a refresher on what information is available to pilots on Flight Watch? Really great! Reverse morning and afternoon session. I liked all that was presented, you provide a great, interesting variety. Great job for your first webinar especially with so many presenters located at multiple locations. Transfer control needs to be crisper/ More about what weather forecasting products are available on the web.

7 What else did you like about the SAWS V Workshop? Answered: 12 Skipped: 1 Lectures were well prepared and were presented in an approachable and professional manner. All presenters handled unforeseen technical difficulties gracefully. Having the meeting virtually allowed me to attend for the first time. For question #9 I answered prefer to participate in person, but I don't realistically expect to get travel funds to attend. Even if you hold a physical meeting, it would be nice to include the virtual option as well. The presenters were very professional; they really enjoyed presenting their topics. They know their stuff. I enjoyed the introduction to Skew-T. I especially liked Sarah Johnson's discussion on convective winds as "an underrated danger". I found portions of both sessions very useful. I'm writting a book on aviation weather and like SAWS IV much good information. Loved the virtual posters! Can attend from home. No travel expenses. All the weather related links for technology and information was wonderful. Forecasting and following storms is of interest to me. The webinar access and operation was not difficult at all...it worked very nicely on my PC. Also, the breaks were very good...thanks...! Great presenters, especially Judy Ghirardelli Also, the Skew-t was good -more next time I hope Variety of topics. Great eye opener to what is out there for users of noaa. The Skew-T log P talk was very good!

8 What else did you dislike about the SAWS V Workshop? Answered: 9 Skipped: 4 Suggest splitting conference into 2 or multiple days. Partner with more aviation organizations. Offer blocks of 2 hr sessions via webinars throughout a month instead of one day. Offer webinar in evening to allow more participants. Speakers who only read a canned statement My Internet service was interrupted during much of the JetBlue and SW Airlines presentations. I hope that there is some way to download the audio. Maybe Tom Lloyd went a little overboard promoting JetBlue's business. Rick Curtis (SW Airlines) seemed to strike a good balance between company promotion and weather safety. WEBINAR OK as plan "B." I miss the oppertunity to interact with presenters and audience. As a presenter I would do thing differently now that I understand the limitations of a WEBINAR. But, I undersand the budget problems. The virtual format worked great for the circumstances that we had this year, but I did miss the face to face interaction. N/A n/a somebody in control kept leaving their mike on, made for an echol and background nice.
