5 Physiologist Any guesses?
A scientist who studies how animals move and behave. Animal physiologist Cheryl Dyer observes healthy, 10-day-old piglets.

Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe biologist Lohna O'Rourke takes a water sample from Sequim Bay.

7 Paleontologist Any guesses?
A scientist who studies ancient life on Earth and fossils. Paleontologist carefully chips rock matrix from a column of dinosaur vertebrae.

8 Ecologist Any guesses? A scientist who studies the relationship between living things and the environment. Kevin Robertson, Ph.D, Fire Ecologist

9 Botanist Any guesses? A scientist who studies plants.
The thorough and thoughtful botanist and boatman, Gary Bolton.

10 Physicist Any guesses? A scientist who studies the fundamental structure of matter. Physicist John Cerne has received a prestigious National Science Foundation award to probe the fundamental behavior of "strange metals."

11 Anthropologist Any guesses?
A scientist who studies existing and past human cultures and the way people live.

12 Oceanographer Any guesses? A scientist that studies the ocean.
Norfolk District Oceanographer Dave Schulte displays a cluster of oysters which were growing on the district's sanctuary reefs in the Great Wicomico River.
