1 Pronouns 2nd part of speech

2 Definition Pronouns take the place of nouns to name persons, places, things, or ideas. They can be used in different ways: personal, indefinite, interrogative, and demonstrative. They have a subcategory called possessive.

3 Personal Pronouns I, me, you, he, him, she, her, it, we, us, they, them

4 Possessive Pronouns My, mine, your, yours, his, her, hers, its, our, ours, their, theirs There are no apostrophes used with possessive pronouns. It’s is never possessive. It’s stands for the contradiction that represents “It is.”

5 Indefinite Pronouns Indefinite pronouns can be singular, plural, or both. Singular pronouns: Anybody, anyone, another, anything, each, either, everyone, everything, neither, nobody, no one, one, somebody, someone. Singular pronouns are used with singular possessive pronouns his, her, and its. Ex: Neither student can complete his or her work at home.

Plural indefinite pronouns: both, many, few, several Plural indefinite pronouns are used with the plural possessive their. Ex: Many students voiced their concern over the amount of homework assigned.

Who, whom, what, which, whose

8 Demonstrative Pronouns
This, that, these, those This and these point to people or things that are near in space or time. That or those point to people or things that are farther away in space or time.
