A cell structure that forms a maze of passageways in which proteins and other materials are carried from one part of the cell to another. This could also be known as a group of tubes transporting many goods through out the tube.

The Endoplasmic Reticulum has a very important part of both Plant Cell and Animal Cell. Technically it is various passageways in which transport materials through the cell.

I guess you could say that the Endoplasmic Reticulum could be compared to or similar to the roads that transport goods from one place to another. Highways, roads, Interstates, etc. Also this could possibly be compared by a straw that lets the liquid come from the liquid beverage at the beneath the straw to the taste buds of your mouth.
