4. n SHORT REVIEW -1 n First a promise, then a Blood Covenant(Gen. Chap 5) n Covenants – 22 total in the O.T. n The Abrahamic Covenant is a very “ wide ” covenant, including ALL OFFSPRING of Abraham ( “ seed of Abraham ” ) n Enter it by “ being offspring ” of Abraham. n It is an unconditional covenant. n Abraham and male offspring were required to be circumcised as a “ sign ”. (Gen 17:12) Blood Covenant of Friendship – 01

SHORT REVIEW - 2 n Abrahamic Covenant contains Eternal Salvation, Physical well-being, and prosperity in all area ’ s of life. n God made this covenant with Abraham “ and his SEED ”, or as written in: Galations 3:16 "Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ ” n Galations 3:16 can be paraphrased as: "Now to Abraham and Christ were the promises made ”. 6. SHORT REVIEW - 3 n God did shed His blood and at the same time: n 1. “ abolished the Mosaic sacrificial system requirements ”. 2. The TORAH, or 5 books of Moses, “ the law ” = The INSTRUCTIONS, still stands: Mat_5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. 3. Also, at the same time, God made a provision for Gentiles to enter this covenant: “ grafted into the existing covenant ”. Grafted into the existing/natural olive tree as wild olive tree branches, and partake of the sap of the root. Christians are the wild olive tree branches the Apostle Paul talks about in Romans 11:17. SHORT REVIEW - 4 n We enter into this covenant between Abraham and Christ; by becoming “ spiritual children ” of Abraham: Rom_4:16 Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all, n Gal_3:7 Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. n (note: “ they which are of faith ” = by having faith in Jesus Christ.) n Gal_3:29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. 8. SHORT REVIEW - 5 n Gal_3:9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. n n Galations 3:9 means: n YOU AND I ARE BLESSED WITH THE BLESSINGS OF ABRAHAM !! Blood Covenant of Friendship – 05

9. PRE-VIEW - 1 n One of the reasons for doing this whole study is: u We as Christians, as FOLLOWERS OF CHRIST MUST know what is ours. We MUST discover and know beyond any doubt, WHO we are IN CHRIST, and what that means for us to live in today’s world. u In 2013, about 4000 years after Abraham walked this earth, and about 2000 years after Jesus walked this earth, these promises still stand ! n Promise 35 states, "The covenant between God, Abraham, and his seed in their generation coming after Abraham is an everlasting covenant." n Promise 49 declares, "I will establish my covenant with Isaac's seed after him for an everlasting covenant.” (note: more on this in next presentation) Blood Covenant of Friendship – 06

PRE-VIEW - 2 n From a logical point, and from a LEGAL point of view, because we DO have a CONTRACT, follows the following statement, written 2 different ways: u Besides salvation, the Abrahamic Covenant guaranteed the blessings of physical health and material prosperity for Old Testament Judaism. The Christian religion must do the same in the Christian era; otherwise Old Testament Judaism is the superior religion. Blood Covenant of Friendship – 07

PRE-VIEW - 3 n Stated once more in different wording: u Besides salvation, IF the Christian religion doesn’t provide and guarantee physical health and material prosperity in the New Testament era, equal to that provided and guaranteed by the Abrahamic Covenant during the Old Testament era, then plainly Christianity is inferior to Old Testament Judaism. 12. PRE-VIEW - 4 During the next few sessions we will be looking at: Sixty promises made to Abraham and His SEED. n Abraham, n Sarah, n Isaac,(son of FREE woman)(ref. PRE-VIEW - 5 n There are many references in scripture where God calls himself by the name of: n “The God of “Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob” n Exo_2:24 And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. n Exo_3:6 Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God. Exo_3:15 And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations. PRE-VIEW - 6 n The Abrahamic Covenant is composed of (about) sixty various promises. n We fully define the terms "Bless," "Blessed," and "Blessing," using both Hebrew and Greek. n We apply the complete definition of "Bless," "Blessed," and "Blessing" specifically to the lives of Abraham and his Seed Group (i.e., Isaac, Jacob, the Nation of Israel, and Christians) showing that health and wealth are part and parcel of the "Blessings" guaranteed by the Abrahamic Covenant.
