2. Senate breakout group on IT/HPCC Key Focus – IT Support for Faculty Research (access to and support for research computing). Instruction (technology available to the faculty in the classrooms). Lack of IT resources in small academic units. Minimum standards could/should be set for the research, teaching and administrative needs of the faculty. A Survey could be used to Inform the Deans of the satisfaction levels of their faculty with IT resources in an absolute manner and a relative manner.

3. Proposed Activities A Survey should be created which is administered yearly at the academic unit level: Faculty satisfaction with IT for research needs. Faculty satisfaction with IT for instruction needs. Faculty satisfaction with IT for administration needs. Other Concerns: Systems integration Data integration Learning Management System (LMS) / Blackboard Wireless expansion (continuing) Quality of IT staffing and support is highly variable Need better central measurement of IT licenses (a central repository)
