IB2.5.3 Animal tissues © Oxford University Press 2011 Muscle tissue Cells are long and thin Cells filled with lots of contracting proteins Cells able to contract and relax which allows them to change shape and, in turn, to change the shape of the tissue Changing the shape of the tissue causes movement of the tissue or of the fluids around it
