Defensive Driving Permit Renewal
4/24/2017 Defensive Driving Permit Renewal The initial PDO Defensive Driving permit is gained after successfully completing training at TATI or IHTP and assessment by the RSSB. DDC06 Renewals MUST be booked before the expiry date of the permit. The permit expiry date is printed on the permit itself. The renewal assessment can only be completed after the expiry date IF DDC06 is booked before the expiry date. You must attend the course within three months of the permit expiring. If not, the full course must be attended again. You must undergo Assessment in the vehicle type that you hold a permit for, that has the highest risk i.e., if you hold a PDO Heavy Bus Permit (DDC05 capacity more than 25 pax), you may not undergo assessment in a light vehicle. 5

Defensive Driving Permit Renewal DO NOT LET YOUR PERMIT EXPIRE
4/24/2017 Defensive Driving Permit Renewal The responsibility to keep the PDO Defensive Driving permit current lies with the permit holder (Driver). This is no different to your ROP licence and other HSE training. The financial savings for renewal rather than retraining are huge. Each time you complete a light vehicle DDC06 renewal you save OMR 78, and OMR 104 for heavy vehicle DDC06. The convenience and productivity saving is just as huge. Each time you complete a DDC06 renewal you save 1.5 working days. How much is your time worth? How much is your staff’s time worth to you? DO NOT LET YOUR PERMIT EXPIRE 6
