3. One spring morning near a pond on a farm, an old dog lay snoozing in his kennel. He was awoken by loud honking coming from Mother Goose who was waddling around looking for her goslings. The dog looked up sleepily and saw the goslings in the farmers garden eating all the vegetables and making a terrible mess. “Someone help me find my goslings, they’ve disappeared and I can’t find them anywhere!” panicked Mother Goose.

4. The dog got up wearily and said “Don’t worry, they are in the garden trying to eat the vegetables, I will go and round them all up if you want me to?” Mother Goose was very relieved by this kind offer. Soon all of the goslings were safely back in the pond and everything was quiet once more.

5. A few days later the old dog was trying to round up the sheep for lambing. The dog was getting very tired and the sheep weren’t cooperating. Mother Goose was washing her goslings when she heard a lot of noise from the field and went to have a look. Mother Goose remembered how kind the dog had been when she lost her goslings and came and helped him put the sheep in the barn for lambing.

6. The old dog said “ Thank you for helping me round up the sheep for lambing.” In a nearby tree a wise owl called down to the Dog and the Goose “An act of kindness is a good investment.”
