Lesson 7 Rectangular Objects
2
Rectangle Command
3
Rectangles with Vertices on the Origin Start from the origin End at the origin
4
Rectangles Centered on the Origin Draw a rectangle around the origin Draw a centerline from upper left to lower right corner Create a midpoint relationship between the origin and the center line –Click on add relation –Click on the line –Click on the origin –Click on Midpoint
5
Dimension Use Smart dimension –Select one side to specify the side’s length –Select two sides to specify the distance between the two sides You should have a 2”x2” square Make sure the rectangle is black
6
Extrude Extrude the part 2”
7
Extrude/Cuts The process is the same as for cutting a circle –Select a face –Draw a 2D sketch Relate to origin Dimension until Black –Extrude Cut
8
2D Sketch Click on a face –It turns green Draw a rectangle Draw a center line from the upper left to the lower right Create a midpoint relationship between the origin and the center line Dimension the square to 1.5” on each side
9
Extrude Cut Click Extruded Cut Select Blind End Condition –This means cut a certain distance –Set depth to 1.75” Click on Green check
10
Lab 7 Create a set of 3 “Cubes” with a.25” thick wall –Each cube will fit inside another –Each edge should have a small fillet Lab7 part 1- (Same as lesson 7) –2”x2”x2” Cube – centered around the origin –The hole is 1.5”x1.5”x1.75” deep Lab7 part 2 –1.5”x1.5”x1.5” Cube –lower left corner is aligned with the origin –3” away vertically –Note: the hole is 1”x1”x1.25”deep –Use the wall thickness to center the sketch for the hole Lab7 cube 3 –1.0”x 1.0” x1.0” Cube –upper left corner is aligned with the origin –3” away horizontally –The hole is.5”x.5”x.75” deep –Use the wall thickness to center the sketch for the hole Part 2 Part 3
