Main Message Fall is the best time to begin backyard composting Ample supply of leaves which provide the predominant supply of “Browns” (dry, carbon-rich material) Add “Greens (food waste, grass, nitrogen- rich material) over the year

Recipe Add one bucket of Greens to 3 buckets of Browns Add water to moisten (damp as wrung-out sponge) Turn (at least) monthly Harvest in 12-16 months
