I can use a range of openers to start my sentences. I can use a range of connectives to join two parts of a sentence. Reading Targets I can make inferences using the text. I can use punctuation to read with expression. I can find key information in a text. Have you written and underlined the date and WALT? Are you ready to sign off one of your targets yet? Have you assessed a classmate’s work recently and have they assessed yours?

4 I can use my times tables to help me solve multiplications using the short method. I can use column subtraction to subtract a 3 digit number from a 4 digit number. I can write a sentence, which makes sense, using a capital letter, full stop, and commas to pause and give extra information. I can explain the writer’s viewpoint when I am reading fiction.
