2 What is the issue?  Most young adults who become pregnant at early age “are less likely to complete high school (only one- third receive a high school diploma) and only 1.5% have a college degree by age 30”. (Teen Pregnancy)

3 Financial Matters  Being a single parent there are difficult obstacles that lie ahead to attend college. For single mothers “there are many options available such as grants, scholarships, loans and government programs” (Single Mothers).

4 Timetabling  That many community colleges are seeing the rise of single parents and are offering childcare while the student is attending classes. For instance Mesa Community College program is called Children's Center. So the single parent avoid missing class.

5 Time Management  For single parent the hardest part is learning how to balance your time wisely. For example working full time and going to school full time or vice versa.

6 What are their options  There are many programs designed to help single parents attend college. The single parent must be committed to finishing college.

7 Online Courses  Online courses “features information being easily accessible on a computer”(Going to college). All the community colleges are offering online courses that better suite the students needs rather then traditional classes.

8 Distant Learning  Distant learning “involve instructors and learners interacting with each other from a distance” (Going to college). Now days a lot of the universities offer distant learning courses.

9 Evening and Weekend Classes  If online or distant learning classes doesn’t suite single parents needs they also have an option for evening and weekend classes. All colleges offer evening and weekend classes.

10 What options offered by the family?  The options provided by family support varies depending on the family dynamic. As well as the culture of the family well accept and support the single parent.

11 Community Programs  There is variety of programs offered to single parents attending college.

12 Children's Center  Such as Mesa Community College the children’s center is offered to every single parents in need of daycare, while attending classes.

13 Financial Assistance  For single parents they are many options available to them such as fasfa, grants, scholarships and loans.

14 Financial Assistance  “The amount granted is usually not enough to cover the total cost of single parent college education, but the single parent still has other options for funding, including fellowships and scholarships from the college” (Going to college).
