3. Objective 101.01 Safety  ESD straps  Electrostatic discharge takes place when two objects that store different amounts of static electricity come in contact. To avoid ESD, keep the technician and the parts of the PC on which he is working at the same electrical potential. The technician can be grounded to the PC by connecting an anti-static wrist strap from the PC to himself.
