Puritans Video and Note Catcher Please pick up a copy of the note catcher from the middle table and prepare to take notes on the short video we are going to watch about the Puritans. YouTube Keyword: Puritans Option: Number Two (puritans)

Learning Objectives Content Objective: Students will be able to describe elements and characteristics of Puritan society. Language Objective: Students will watch You Tube video and take notes using the note catcher. Language Objective: Students will read the New England Primer on Page 17 and answer the number two questions from Page 14 under a heading in the spiral notebooks titled “New England Primer.” Language Objective: Students will read the handout and add on to their note catcher.

New England Primer Language Objective: Students will read the New England Primer on Page 17 and answer the number two questions from Page 14 under a heading in the spiral notebooks titled “New England Primer.” Get our your spiral notebooks and create an entry titled New England Primer. Read the primer with a partner and answer the following questions in your spirals. 1. What was the purpose behind reading a primer? 2. How widespread was reading meant to be? 3. What is the image of God and religion presented by the primer?

Background Knowledge on Puritans Language Objective: Students will read the handout and add on to their note catcher. Your Note Catchers are due tomorrow. I encourage you to complete additional research on the Puritans and add the information to your note catcher. You will receive a grade for your work, and then the note catchers will be returned to you for further studying.
