2009/09/25, Ministry of Public Security (MOPS), Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development (MOHURD) jointly promulgated the Notice [2009] 46, that requires in general -burning behavior of thermal insulation at external wall of civil buildings can not be below class B2, and class A is recommended as appropriate 2011/3/14, Ministry of Public Security issued new Notice [2011] 65 and required materials with burning behavior class A, which was over stringent for plastics. ‘Political’ discussion on plastics used for insulation materials Fire Safety on Construction Materials

Construction fire safety standards under revision GB 8624 (Classification for burning behavior of building materials and products), had been prepared by Sichuan Fire- Research Institute (SCFRI) and hold for approval from Ministry of Public Security GB50045 (Code for fire protection design of tall buildings) and GB50016 (Code of Design on Building Fire Protection and Prevention) will be combined for revision by Tianjin Fire Research Institute Fire Safety on Construction Materials
