Barnaby Goes To Spain

Barnaby travelled on a plane to a country called Spain, which is in Europe. He enjoyed looking out of the window on the plane.

He landed at the Malaga airport which is on the Costa del Sol. This is a very popular area for holidays. It is usually warm and sunny.

Barnaby stayed in this hotel with his friends. He liked the palm trees and the gardens.

The first night he was there he went to a Chinese restaurant for dinner. He especially liked the ice-cream.

In Malaga Barnaby saw the marina where there were lots of boats. He also looked around the shops and saw lots of restaurants.

On a rainy day Barnaby went to an aquarium. He saw lots of snakes.

He also saw lots of different fish.

Barnaby went to a town called Cordoba. He went shopping.

He saw a shop that sold lots of souvenirs for visitors to take home.

Barnaby found out that these dolls are dressed in traditional Spanish costumes.

Barnaby visited a a very famous palace in Granada. It is called the Alhambra Palace Alhambra means red in Arabic. Barnaby could see that the walls of the palace looked red. Alhambra means red in Arabic. Barnaby could see that the walls of the palace looked red.

The palace was built by the Muslims who ruled Spain for 700 years. In 1492 Queen Isabella defeated the Muslims at Granada and it became Christian. There is a Christian church inside this palace. Barnaby found out that 1492 is also the year Christopher Columbus accidentally discovered America.

Barnaby went on a cable car to the top of a mountain.

He also visited a donkey sanctuary on the mountain.

On the last day of his holiday Barnaby went for a walk on the beach. The weather was cool and cloudy so he didn’t go in the sea.

In the evening he went to an Italian restaurant for dinner.

Barnaby saw some interesting things on his holiday. He especially liked Alhambra palace and would love to return.
