1 The Value of a Soul What is a Soul? The inner person that is distinct from the body (Matt. 10:28). Generally synonymous with the spirit (Gen. 2:27, KJV; Eccl. 12:6-7; James 2:26). Sometimes distinguished from the spirit (Heb. 4:12; 1 Thess. 5:23). When distinct…  The spirit reflects the image of God.  The soul is the animate part of human beings. It is eternal (Eccl. 3:11; 2 Cor. 4:17-5:3)

2 What is the Value of a Soul? The soul is more valuable than any material thing (Mark 8:34-38). How do we assign value in earthly things?  Beauty or uniqueness.  Durability or rarity. Material things are worthless if you’re dead. Even your life will be worthless if you lose your soul. The Value of a Soul

3 What is the Soul’s Destiny? The body will die, but the soul will face judgment (Heb. 9:27-28). We will be rewarded or punished for what we have done in the body (2 Cor. 5:9-11). Man can kill the body, but God can destroy the soul (Matt. 10:28; Rev. 20:11-15). The Value of a Soul
