ROADS II Objectives 1)Extend HIV, broader health and related services for high risk mobile and community populations along regional transport corridors 2) Increase African regional institutional capacity for rapid scale up of state-of- the-art practices and sustainable models 3) Identify, test and diffuse innovations

ROADS II Core Pillars 1.Create a safe environment for people to talk openly about HIV and other health issues, and promote health-seeking behavior. Result: Knowledge of HIV/AIDS and related health issues increased 2.Safeguard health through increased use of quality HIV and other essential health services: Result: Use of selected quality health services increased 3.Enhance economic and food security as a prevention/care and community sustainability strategy: Result: Economic and food security in project sites improved

ROADS II Core Pillars (cont….) 4.Reduce alcohol/substance abuse as barriers to healthy behavior: Result: Level of alcohol and substance use/abuse reduced 5.Improved access to safety nets for most vulnerable families: Result: Access to safety nets for vulnerable families improved 6.Safeguard women and children from violence and sexual exploitation: Result: Violence & sexual exploitation against women & children reduced

Iringa USG Partner Q3 Collaborations FHI-ROADS Peer educators TOTs oriented by JHPIEGO for MC uptake – Started April. Received 190 HBC Kits from SCMS Project Received from 118,800 packets of PUR from PSI Utilized JHU/STRADCOM produced Community Resource Toolkit – On-going 2 cluster staff trained at JHU-CCP – STRADCOM Alcohol DJ training.

Iringa USG Partner Q3 Collaborations (cont.) Youth cluster worked with Femina Hip in preparing May-June Si Mchezo! magazine AMREF & JHPIEGO – plan and coordinate CT outreach coverage and activities. Tunajali and FHI-UJANA implementing partners part of the Ilula rapid assessment

Planned activities for quarter 3…… Increased comprehensive programming in Makambako including all components of the six pillars Focus on at risk groups including - bar and lodge workers Increased focus to Integrate HIV Prevention sessions into existing platforms – youth groups, GSLAs, etc Start up Family planning trainings and programming Start-up programming of HIV prevention activities in Ilula, Kilolo District.
