3. 3 The UK’s 80% target by 2050 will require decarbonisation across all sectors and nations

4. 4 The UK is currently on track to meet the 2 nd carbon budget (2013-17) relatively easily

5. 5 However, there is a growing policy gap as we approach the 4 th carbon budget (2023-27) #CCC2014

6. 6 In Wales, emissions have been increasing, unlike in the rest of the UK Industry emissions increased by 28%, almost all from Port Talbot. Power sector emissions also rose by 8.4% due to a switch to more coal-fired generation Wales up 10.3% UK down 2.4%
