2. Concept Windstroke is a disorder characterized by sudden loss of consciousness with distortion of the face, dysphasia, hemiplegia. The chief etiological factor is the wind, fire and phlegm. The ZangFu organs involved are liver, heart, spleen and kendney. The pathogenesis is disorder of Yin and Yang, and deficiency of ZangFu organs and meridians and collaterals. Windstroke is seen in cerebral hemorrhage, cerebrovascular spasm, cerebral embolism, subarachaoid hemorrhage,and their sequelae as well.
