Making Garlic Bread the Old Fashioned Way

Decide what you are serving as the main dish Decide how many people you are going to serve Make sure you have all of your ingredients Don’t forget the cheese Don’t forget the wine Decide what type of dessert you want to have Be sure and set the mood music Get the candles ready Feed the animals before your guests arrive Invent a great table centerpiece! Make a salad to go with your main course Do you have salad dressing? Croutons? Don’t dress while you are cooking Don’t wipe your eyes while you are cutting up the onions Have fun!!!! EAT-EAT! Last, but not least…turn off the oven when you are finished!!

What you will need A bulb of fresh Garlic A Stick of “Real” Butter (May substitute Margarine) A medium sized pan Two medium Onion One or two Large Loaf of Italian Bread Real Parmesan cheese

What to do next 1.Pre- Heat your oven to about 450 degrees 2.Place the medium sized pan on the stove 3.Take the garlic bulb and pull off outside skin-then pull apart so that you have several (4 or 5) garlic cloves 4.Take 4 or 5 cloves and cut them into tiny pieces and place them in the pan 5.Take the 2 onions and cut them up into tiny pieces and place them in the pan 6.Turn the burner on under the pan to the very low setting or temperature

Now the bread ! 1.Take the loaf of bread and carefully make a slit down one side 2.Watch the garlic, butter and onions carefully 3.When all of the butter is melted and the garlic and onions are soft remove the pan from the stove and let it cool for about 3 minutes 4.Gently smash the onions and garlic in the melted butter and mix gently

It’s about the bread! 1.Take the pan and pour the garlic, onions and butter all over the inside of the loaf of bread 2.Wrap the entire loaf of bread in aluminum foil and set aside for about 10 minutes 3.Gently unwrap the loaf of bread 4.Open the slit you made and sprinkle with the parmesan cheese inside the opening of the loaf 5.Rewrap the loaf of bread.

Let’s eat!!! 1.Turn the oven temperature to 350 degrees 2.Put the bread in the oven for about 10 minutes 3.Remove and turn off oven 4.Place the loaf on a platter and remove the aluminum foil 5.Serves approximately 4 people

Tips Recipe can be doubled with little to no problem if you are serving more than 4 people You can throw out the bread crumbs to our feathered friend here.
